With 40 titles out there, one would think I'd be rolling in the dough, but that is not the case. Each author has to market their ebooks aggressively and continuously. They start off strong but falter. Even my own stuff, which I don't market like I should because I'm busy working on all these other 'projects.' Sales are sluggish at best. Still, I'd made the decision to go electronic and I'm sticking with it. Someday, something I publish is going to go viral. Till then, I'm having a blast doing what I love, and I never let money issues take the fun out of my writing and epublishing.Terry Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07530609146114469375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8378052183196511504.post-11067647849124500422012-04-23T09:56:51.663-07:002012-04-23T09:56:51.663-07:00Mary, I appreciate your sharing this. I have heard so much about people who made more money self-publishing than they did traditional publishing that I was beginning to think I was the only loser in the room. So far I have self-pubbed only one book, a YA written as Jamie Sterling, which brings in a modest $20 or so a month. My historical backlist is all e-pubbed with Musa publishing. 10 books and pocket change every month. If I'd paid to self-pub them I'm sure I'd still be in the red. It's a gamble -- and a fun one to try. But not the path to sure riches that some would have us believe.Cindi Myershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07216890511874303721noreply@blogger.com
